However, inheritance has been factored in various ways through the clauses on discrimination with respect to property where property could sufficiently be deemed to include property by inheritance. The convection of the rights of the child, general comment, the committee on the rights of the child vigorously supports the property and inheritance rights of children. Non discrimination with respect to property upon dissolution of marriage or death of the husband is also critically important to women and children and protected under the convection on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women. The scenario in the grassroots is the complete contrast. Widows and children have limited or no inheritance rights legally or de facto. A solid, enforceable legal framework on property rights and inheritance that safeguards the interests of widows and children not only protect those important rights but would be beneficial to the state as well.
